The Crimeless Victim

We all know people who always have a story about the wrongs the world has done to them. You know the type, never ever did anything to deserve whatever, they can't understand why so and so stopped talking to them, the why don't my friends want to kick it with me pity party host/hostess. I have one thing to say to you, STOP!!! Did you stop to think that this very type of behavior is the reason why your pity party is a party for one? Could this behavior be the reason why the well of sympathy from others for your so-called situations has run desert dry? Is this attitude the reason why your texts go unanswered and your voicemails are habitually ignored? My guess would be yes. No one who is about handling life as it comes is interested in someone who wants to stop when life comes as it is. It becomes a tedious process just talking to this person. They go on and on about whatever as if the whole world is in on a plot to destroy life as they know it when all that happened is, their remote batteries are dead. There's never a positive, uplifting word  from these people, only tragedy, heartache, and disaster. Life can't be this terrible for anyone. Their romantic life is always so great, for the first 6 minutes. Then they say the 1, 000, 000 things wrong with the person they're with when the truth is they drove this person bats*** crazy with their constant dark mood and senseless pessimistic conversation. It's like a real life version of Deliver Us From Eva. I have a suggestion for you people, get over yourself. We all have issues, problems, and hard times. It's not these mishaps that define us, It's how we deal with and learn from them that does. If you dwell in the places that the past exists you'll never be able to partake in what the present has to offer, let alone build on the present for the future. Newsflash, we're not in high school anymore! The teenage angst you exude is dated and misplaced. Grow up and accept responsibility for your life and the direction it takes!!!  Join the real world instead of asking why me? (Drops mic, steps off soapbox.)
